My Notes

In the next 10 days, I’ll grow stronger

September 7, 2017

In the next 10 days, I’ll grow stronger. As a mother, as a woman, and as a human being, I’ll be stronger.

I live with my in-laws. Kaden, Josh, Andrea, Tyler and I live with my in-laws, in Korea, in a villa that is 4 levels high. I know I know, it’s the typical “Korean style” of living. Living with the in-laws, with children and living in a 3 bedroom small place. But really, it’s not that typical life.

I live with the most adorable and caring mother-in-law on earth. She literally wants to do EVERYTHING for our family. She has sacrificed so much already for Kaden but is still willing to do it all over again for me and my children. She takes care of all of us. She cooks for us, does the laundry for us, feeds the children, watches Tyler and holds him while doing other chores around the house. She wakes up at 6 a.m. (cause that’s when Josh usually wakes up) and doesn’t take a break from all the things that she does. That angel mother-in-law is on vacation right now. She left today for 10 days to travel around Europe with her friends.

She left the house at 5:45 p.m. today, it’s only 10 p.m. right now and it already feels like it’s been days. I fixed up Josh and Andrea’s dinner, fed them the last couple of spoons while holding Tyler in my arms. Then put Josh to bed (with Tyler still in my arms), then breastfed Tyler and put him to bed. Got Andrea to finish her dinner (took her long enough…!) gave her some water and sat down for my dinner. I ate like I had starved for ten days. Then put the laundry up on the hangers, got Andrea to brush her teeth, did the dishes and then held Tyler again. I then cleaned up all the toys that Josh had left on the floor, brought Andrea into our room so that she could go to bed next to me. Then Tyler woke up again, so I had to latch him on again. Got Tyler to burp and then put him down to sleep on the other side of me. Then got Andrea to sleep in 30 minutes (it usually takes about an hour to get Andrea sleeping). When I realized all the kids were sleeping in our room (this rarely happens, usually only two sleep with me, one of them sleeps with their grandma) I felt hungry again.

It felt hot in our room with so many people sleeping!! hahahaha I had to open my Macbook and just write this down so that I wouldn’t forget this day. The day I watched all three kids, fed them, and put them to sleep (almost at the same time).

I’m so very tired from all the things I did in the last 4.5 hours and want to go to bed right now, but I just had to type this out and keep a record of this and brag about it. Why? If you don’t have three kids, don’t even ask.

Tomorrow will probably be harder. But tomorrow, I’ll be stronger and grow proud of myself more and more. Because I’m doing it all with no help. Usually, while I blog and edit the kids’ pictures in Photoshop, my mother-in-law would watch the kids or hold Tyler. But now, I have to do everything for the next ten days. I should have been doing it in the first place but I didn’t. I was totally taking advantage of living with my mother-in-law. HAHA.

She’s on a well-deserved vacation from us, with her friends and I hope she enjoys every second of it.

Thanks SI UM MA for everything you’ve been doing for us! I hope you have a blast!!!

Meanwhile, I’ll learn how to multi-task and grow stronger as a mother and as a human being. I’ll probably just become a zombie mommy again but that’s totally ok!!!!
