So today I decided to make Shrimp Wontons at home for the kids. More like Shrimp Dimsum. It was super easy to make.
I chopped up grey tiger shrimp (about 10 large ones), 1 white button mushroom, 1/3 of a carrot, 1 stem of green onion, 1/4 of a onion, 1 teaspoon of garlic, 1 small egg yoke, 2 tablespoons of corn starch, and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil.
I put all the ingredients together and stirred them up.
I made them into little balls like this. Kind of like when you’re making meatballs but only this is more soft and harder to roll.
I rolled them once in cornstarch and then steamed them.
If you steam cook them on high for about 5 minutes, they are all ready and good to eat.
What I did with mine though was that I took them and steamed them for about 3-4 minutes only and took them out.
I wanted to make a batch and then freeze them so that I can take them out of the freezer whenever I want and just re-steam them for the kids.
Great as a side dish for the kids!
The only thing is though that the kids didn’t eat this as a side dish, they ate it as their main dish.
