It’s that time of the year again when I have to get my hair done and get it trimmed. This time was a bit different though. I hadn’t gone in a really long time and I wanted some dramatic changes to my hair. It had grown out a lot and I knew wanted something bright and something to really just mentally also boost me up. I wanted more highlights this
When you live abroad and all your friends are back at home (for me in Vancouver BC Canada) you go through many ups and downs that make you miss your friends. It’s times like this that help me get through life and it’s times like these that help me stand up again. As me, as Vicky Hong.
We visited Seoul N Tower last weekend and actually ended up walking down the whole way back. The kids loved it!!!! It was fun for me too cause I got to see all of the Cherry Blossoms that had bloomed that week!
Josh caught the type-B influenza last week. I honestly think he caught it playing at the playground on Thursday. He started showing signs of a fever on Friday and that’s when I knew he was gonna be REALLY sick. On Friday afternoon and during the evening his fever started rising and it literally went up to 39.5 degrees Celsius and I immediately knew we were going to make a trip
I don’t know how to put it into words. I always dreamed of all of us getting together and spending time together and it really happened. Except for John (my younger brother). I always envied those families who would get together for events and have big BBQ’s in the backyard. Kids running around and playing games while the adults hung around with a beer or a cocktail in their hands.
This past week was so crazy I can’t even organize my thoughts to explain what happened. It was Josh’s second week of school, it was the week with Andrea’s dental check-up and it was also the week my lectures at a community center in our neighborhood started. You can probably see why it was crazy, right? And then it was the week Andrea wanted to meet up with MinJoon and
It’s amazing to see how much Tyler has grown up. It’s amazing to see how he’s adjusted to our new home too. I still can’t believe all 7 of us used to live in a house half this size. Tyler is going through the “let me try”, “I want to do it” phase right now. He’s learned how to say it in Korean before English “내가!! 내가!!” is what he
Ever since I was a child, it was hard for me to fit in. In any circle of people, it was hard. I remember when we first moved to Marietta, Georgia USA. I was in grade 1 at the time and I didn’t speak a word of English. I went to school every day thinking “I hope we move again”, “I really don’t want to go to school”. I hated
His last kindergarten morning picture. It really felt weird. I wanted to make sure I didn’t cry at the ceremony and I didn’t. Hahahahahah LOL So many people cried, including the teachers and it was a hard year I must admit, with all the craziness it really was a hard year. I can see why the teachers cried. The kindergarten is now becoming a fully private academy. Therefore, the teachers
