[Recipe] Wasabi Ebi Mayo

I love fried shrimp. I love SHRIMP. Anything with shrimp in it, I will eat. One of the things I like to make when we can’t decide on a menu or if Kaden wants to eat something good and nice but has no idea what the hell he wants. I make this. Wasabi Ebi Mayo. It’s really easy to make and it’s a main dish that everyone can enjoy. Even the kids.

I start by heating a pan of oil and frying frozen shrimp. I bought mine here http://foodingfactory.com/goods/goods_view.php?goodsNo=1000000458

Once I start getting the shrimp going, I make the mayo sauce. I add 1/2 cup of Mayo, 2 table spoons of sugar, 3 table spoons of sesame oil and 1 spoon of wasabi.

This has to be constantly mixed. So in between frying the shrimp and chopping the onion, make sure you come back to this sauce and mix it.

I like to fry my shrimp in a frypan like this because if the ingredient gets enough air while bing fried, it becomes more crispy and light.

In between the frying, I come back to my sauce and stirrrrr stirrrr stirrr. The reason you wanna keep coming back to this sauce is because the sugar doesn’t just fully blend into the other ingredients. It takes time. So if you just leave it, it’ll look like this. Almost as if it’s getting separated from the other ingredients.

I fried my shrimp in two small batches so this was batch number one. While number two was being fried I prepped the toppings that were going to go on top of the dish.

I bought some shallots the other day at e-mart and so I chopped one up along with a small onion that I sliced. The onion has to be sliced really thin since it’s going to go straight on top of the shrimp.

Once the shrimp is done (I also fried some french fries to go with it) place it nicely on a large plate. Then sprinkle the sliced onion and shallots on top.

Move the sauce into a cake decorating bag or a ziplock bag and cut the tip.

Drizzle the sauce on as much as you can and then drizzle the rest onto the side of the dish so that the shrimp with no sauce (the ones on the bottom layer) can be dipped into the extra sauce on the side.

Chop your fresh parsley and green onions so that it’s about a hand full.

Sprinkle on the plate and you’re done!

It’s seriously a dish that EVERYONE in the family will love.

Hope you enjoy!!
