With the COVID19 situation all over the world right now, it’s not easy getting my exercise every day of the week. Also, most of the exercises and workouts that I do at home are very limited. Nothing is easy with the situation. Also with another outbreak from a club in Itaewon recently, the situation seems to be getting worse. Everyone was hoping things would now be better and that we would all be able to go back to the way things were before. Not 100% but almost about 90%. BUT due to this new COVID19 situation recently, the whole nation of South Korea has been hit AGAIN. It’s not anyone’s fault that this happened. If they didn’t have any symptoms, they probably didn’t know at all that they could be the one at risk of spreading COVID19, again. But, what has happened, has happened and now we just need to go back to step one and take care of the situation.
One of the things I wanted to do well before COVID19 conquered the world was to get my ZUMBAⓇ B1 training. Not to become a ZUMBAⓇ teacher but so that I could have access to all the different music and resources that any ZIN™️ member gets access to. I wanted to see all of the exclusive choreography materials and the music. But all of the training that was in Korea was so far away or even if there was one in Seoul, I would always forget and miss it.
The most important reason I wanted to get this training was to be in close contact with a ZES A.K.A. Zumba Education Specialist. Why do I even need to be in contact with them? Well. In the future, I don’t exactly know if I am going to continue on as an English teacher and I wanted to know if there were any other options for me and my future career path line. So, I wanted to know the full story of a ZIN™️ and see if I could keep my options open. I also wanted to test myself to see if I was capable of doing it and passing it.
So to be honest, it wasn’t easy, I can tell you that. Although some people might think that because it’s an “online training” that you can just have it play on your computer screen and let it go and then get your certificate. It’s not like that. You actually have to listen and watch, and dance with it. There are little quizzes along the way to move on to the next lecture. The moves and 4 basic ZUMBAⓇ steps you learn are all part of the content that you learn about in the training. AND last but not least, if you don’t have a basic grasp of ZUMBAⓇ then you’re screwed.
I’ve been doing ZUMBAⓇ for more than 7 years. I’ve been a dancer since I was 9 years old. Starting off with R.A.D. Ballet (passed my Elementary Exam in high school) and have been doing Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop and Street Freestyle ever since. I never let go of the connection with dance. It was never a thing I could just say bye to the next day. Dancing is just like a life long partnership I have with my inner me. I guess you can put it that way.
Now that I am also a part of the ZIN™️ community, I will try my best to make the best of it~!!
